THE HAIR JOURNEY
February 7, 2018
THIS MORNING I WOKE UP IN THE MOOD TO FIX WHAT HAS BEEN BROKEN… MY HAIR.
I began by watching helpful Youtubers that can contribute correct information for my hair growth journey. And honestly I couldn’t be more excited to spend my time shopping for hair products in Peckham.
My hair journey described is more like a trek : after a month of using the new products you bought, that smell hella good and are highly recommend is feels like the first hour spent turning up to all of Britney spearits bops in a car ride: you start to fall in love with the look and feel of your hair. So the girls switch it up start playing the old school love songs and everyone’s crying at the wheel.
Then after 2/3 months you decide you want a protective hairstyle and boom you’re chilling for about a month. You first get your hair slayed and it’s like the time you first heard Kid cudi sing the chorus on father stretch my hands part 1 “oh what a feeling”. Now its finally time to take the braids out, the cornrows become uncorned and all of a sudden what used to be a fun hair maintaining process journey turns into a long ass trek.
The amount of times I’ve threatened my hair with scissors or even a razor is beyond imaginable… I even threatened to relax my hair again smh. Which mind you is a sin to all the natural babes of the natural hair community. Of which one day I hope to join their sisterhood sorority.
Now just to get to the point: I’m getting back into the natural hair journey and the YouTube channels I’ve tuned into for guidance are honestly inspiring. Having to ask all my beautiful natural girls for their hair tips is so much fun. Especially when you know, they have that good good hair and always get amazing results from products they’ve tried out.
