Fail Fast or Fantasise ?

Another post starting with an Azealia Banks quote: Fail fast. but the honest truth is that she be spitting.
Two years ago I wrote a little piece about “being prepared” only for the entire planet to enter a pandemic. I can imagine this jeopardised a lot of creative projects in the works. As much as today’s individualistic culture pretends to thrive off hyper independence, the simple truth is that all significant moves cannot be executed alone.
However the theme continues. 2020 was a year we were forced to realise, society was burnt out. 2021 was the year we expected things to pick up the pace. These two years winded up alerting me that life is short, consequently failing fast became a necessity.
Failing fast?
The concept of failing fast boils down to the fact that a lot of the times, we may be scared to pursue a new venture or simply be adventeruous. Failing fast suggests that, a particular situation is holding you back from reaching your highest potential and you may need to dead it fast instead of fixing what’s already flopped. Whether its a mental road block, a bare minimum relationship or a non satisfactory role at your job. I encourage you to aim higher, what’s the worst that could happen.
To Fantasise?
Do you want to live in the fantasy of “What if?” and suffer at the thought of the future? It’s easy to slip into our imagination when it comes the things we have yet to obtain. Manifest baby, believing in yourself and start living as though you deserve what you want! Media has always conditioned us to live through celebrities and movies. Today social media runs our lives influencers provide the most frivolous fantasies to date. So I pose the question, do you want to live through other people’s success or define your own?
First stop of failing fast: Acceptance — This is not working out!
Recognising that you may be failing at something, is often a sign of growth. Better that you tried something that sparked your interest than to have missed out on opportunities. I want to say there is no clock ticking against your achieving personal milestones. The sooner you realise and accept something is not working out for you. Take those lessons learnt and the skills you accumulated to run. The more satisfied you may feel about your life.
Remember the key to success is preparing for that success. The journey is more powerful than you can imagine. If at first you don’t succeed… pick yourself up and try again. Without these tools would you achieve in building something that lasts?
